World! Here I come.

Guys! You'll never guess. I'm off on a world adventure. I've been granted special exemption from the Prime Minister and she's happy for me to travel the world and see how everything is going from a doggie's perspective. It is a very important job.

My family are excited for me but sad. I'll be back super soon though. I hope you enjoy all my updates. I'm off to Australia first. Got to catch some sun on the Gold Coast before I head further around the world.

Check me out at Christchurch International Airport. My mum took it. She was crying a bit so it is a little blurry.

Where do you think I should travel after Australia?

Holidays are a heckin' good time!

Hoomans! I had such a great time in the holidays.
I did all sorts of things.
Can you tell what I got up to?

My favourite thing was playing with my new fren and eating my most favourite food. I love it even more than chimkin. It's so cromchy. I must have been a really good girl to get the whole jar!

I am wondering what things you go up to frens.
I would love to know, so why don't you comment below.

Do you know what to do?

Are you Cybersmart? In Room 9, I have discovered that they do know how to be cybersmart. Everyone worked on a Google Drawing to create their own poster to share the main rules they think others should know. My poster is above. Because I was showing the students how to do it, I made it quickly. I think I could have made the rules a bit bigger and highlighted the keywords.

What rules can you remember about being Cybersmart?

2021 is going to be awesome!

Hi, my name is Ruby. I am in Korimako Hub. My teacher is awesome Miss Smith. I have two cats, they are really annoying. I like to chase them. I enjoy stick chasing and pond swimming.

Want to know more about me? Check out this story I wrote about a weekend I had.

Please introduce yourself to me. Remember to be cybersmart when you do this.

Amazing Old Art - SLJ

Today in Cybersmart we worked on a practice activity for the Summer Learning Journey. We had to colour a picture we had chosen from a range of images. This one is really old, made in 1663. I really liked how she was so intense in reading the letter. It made me think that perhaps she had been looking through a box of old letters and was reminiscing about the past. What do you think?

Do you know what your learning blog is for? Find out here!

I have learnt that our blogs are for our learning. That's why they are called learning blogs. So I can't really share my favourite dog movies here or my favourite dog music. I know I can use that stuff if it relates to my learning though, so that is pretty great.

During my Cybersmart Lesson with my facilitator, I created this comic strip to teach you about the three ways you can use your learning blog. So this blog is to teach you but also to share my work. I'm ticking off two out of the three boxes. What a good doggie!

I used Flaticon to find my dog pictures and I've attributed them at the bottom. This is important because we want the artist to get recognition for their work. I used the explore tool to find the computer image and blogger image. Those images are free to use.

I'd love to see what you come up with. You should comment below with a link to your blog so I can go check out your version of this lesson. That would be pretty doggone awesome.

Games and Cybersmart: Beginner Lesson of Wha, Smart Relationships

Woof woof, what a great time I've had playing barrier games with my friend Cooper. Our fab facilitator took us through a process where we had to listen to each other. This was hard because I get distracted easily, especially when that sneaky neighbourhood cat wanders through the playground.

To start with we got into pairs and decided who was A and who was B. I was B.

The games were listening and following instruction games.

First we had to listen to the audio instruction on the slide.

Next Cooper told me which shape I had to use and I had to listen carefully to where he told me to put the shapes. I did ask questions sometimes, I think that was ok. My teacher didn't say it wasn't.

When I had put all the shapes in place then we looked to check it was right. It was kinda like playing battleships but with shapes and no ship got sunk.

After that we swapped and I gave the instructions and Cooper moved the shapes around. Here is an example of what we finished.

What do you think about how I did?

This is the answer (below). I didn't think I did a bad job. Though my cloud was a bit high.

Here you can see one of the activities where we had to put a shape together. This was harder because there wasn't a grid. I had to use terms like slightly to the left, inside, from the top. The waves helped a bit but you can see that I still wasn't clear enough as Cooper didn't get his pirate in the right place.

My picture - I gave Cooper the instructions.                    Cooper put this together based on what I said.

It was a pretty fun game though. Have you played these games before? Maybe you could let me know how you went after you've had a go by leaving a comment.
